I am an Iowa-based researcher, writer, and collector of useful questions. I studied social and economic geography at the University of Iowa, and geography continues to shape how I think about place, movement, access, public life, and uneven opportunity.
My work has included political campaigns, legislative and governmental research, and municipal grants and strategic partnerships. In municipal government, I supported funding intelligence, grant-readiness planning, cross-departmental coordination, executive communications, and intergovernmental partnerships. Across that work, a recurring question has been how to make complex information useful to the people who must act on it.
Away from formal work, I cook, garden, ski when I can, and play darts and pinball.

Patient-Side is a developing framework for preserving context across time and carrying it into professional healthcare encounters. It examines whether AI-assisted records retain provenance, uncertainty, contradiction, and patient voice while reducing burden and keeping human judgment visible. It is a working framework, not a clinical service or a claim of demonstrated clinical effectiveness.
